When 41 Comes: The Wait Wasn't Wasted

The outpouring around "41" speaks volumes about the deep hunger people have for healing, connection, and hope. In a world that often feels heavy, it's beautiful to see something that brings people back to the heart of Jesus.

“Forty-one.”
It’s more than a number.
It represents hope, restoration, second chances, and new beginnings.

It’s a symbol of promise.

  • After 40 days of rain… came day 41.
  • After 40 years in the wilderness… came purpose.
  • After 40 days of fear… came victory.

Throughout Scripture, the number 41 signifies a turning point—the moment when everything begins to shift.

Hope rises. Restoration begins. God moves.

But maybe you're wondering,

"I’ve been in this season much longer than forty days… when is my 41 coming?"

I hear you.

There is nothing more draining, more disheartening, than feeling forgotten—believing God is distant or silent. I’ve been there too. I've walked through seasons where I truly wondered if God even noticed me. But friend, I can promise you this: God has not forgotten you.

In fact, His Word declares it over and over again:
“I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

And one of my favorite reminders is found in Isaiah 44:21:
“…you shall not be forgotten by Me.” (NLT)

This verse speaks volumes of God’s faithful love. It’s a reminder that no matter how far we feel, we are still deeply known, seen, and cherished by our Creator.

Historically, this promise came during a time of exile for the Israelites—when they were reaping the consequences of disobedience. Yet even then, God’s love remained. His covenant stood firm. His arms stayed open.

As I reflect on my own journey, I remember seasons of isolation where I was convinced God had turned His back on me. The truth? I had turned away from Him. I wasn’t praying. I wasn’t seeking Him. In fact—and this is hard to admit—I was even doubting whether God existed at all. (Yes, that was difficult to type.)

But here’s what I’ve learned:

God never moved. I did.

In my impatience, I walked away from peace and forfeited blessings, all because life didn’t go the way I had planned. But looking back, I am now grateful for the prayers He didn’t answer the way I wanted. I’m grateful for the waiting.

Why?

Because it made the shift all the more meaningful.

I now treasure the blessings so much more deeply.

And I know, with full confidence, that “41” is coming.

There’s a powerful image in Scripture:
“I am the potter; you are the clay.” (Isaiah 64:8, Jeremiah 18:6)

God is shaping us.

Even when the process feels painful or the outcome unclear, He’s molding us into vessels for His purpose. Sometimes, like the potter, He crushes and reshapes us—not to destroy us, but to create something better.

Yet how often do we try to reshape ourselves?

We exhaust ourselves reinventing what God has already designed with divine intention.

But we are not the potter.

We are the clay.

We may not understand the process, but we can trust the hands we’re in.

So today, this is my prayer for you:

That you would cling to hope.

That you would rest in God’s promises.

That whether you’re on day 1 or day 400, you would trust the Potter.

Because when your “41” arrives—and it will—you’ll realize the wait wasn’t wasted.

It was preparation.

It was the setup for your shift.
