Easter & The Cross....

It's Sunday.... Thank God the tomb is empty! HE IS RISEN!

I don't know about your family -- but mine always loves Easter.  We have so much fun coloring eggs, hiding them, and then spending Sunday morning in Church. But as I look around I see that so often many forget that Easter is so much more than the Easter Bunny and coloring eggs to hunt...it's about the Cross and the Blood of Jesus that was shed so you and I could be forgiven and set free of our sins; and the empty tomb signifies hope and mercy!

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." John‬ ‭3‬:‭16

The cross is still a symbol of God’s forgiveness. As Jesus hung on the cross, our debt to God was being satisfied. You could say, the cross was God’s way of "paying it forward." It was His way of saying: “I forgive you.” The cross was a bridge to God’s forgiveness, and we have been invited to freely walk across it. What a privilege to be granted such mercy and grace. There is none other that can give us eternal life and the satisfaction of knowing that Heaven is real!
“It is finished.” John 19:30
This verse is so powerful and gives hope that there is an end to suffering. This verse signifies that nothing is permanent and even our suffering is only temporary. Just as there is a beginning, there is an end to everything.  When Jesus spoke these last words, “It is finished,” His time on earth ended. Many see it as a time of sorrow or sadness, and yes, His pain and suffering did warrant sadness, however, His time on this earth was only temporary; just as our time here on earth is temporary. When Jesus died on the cross, His life as we know ended, but in truth, His life began and He was free. He was beginning a new chapter in a better place. Just as we can if we will surrender all and ask Jesus to forgive us of our sins and ask Him into our hearts.

Please don't misunderstand me - I'm all about celebrating with egg coloring, Easter Egg hunts and fun times with my daughter and family. But I just want to remind you to stop and take time to remember and teach your children what today is truly about....give them a Godly foundation, because there will always be others that will teach them the worldly views.

Blessings~
