A Dose of Truth Serum....."The Life Of Job"

I'm starting and crafting a new Bible study on the life of Job. I have always been intrigued by the story of Job and how he stayed so faithful to God, even when he was literally at rock-bottom and had nowhere to go, nothing left to trust in and lost everything. That's the life I want to live. I want to trust Him (our Lord) even when it seems impossible! What better way to do that than to dive into the Bible and learn more.

To start out this study, here is a little introduction to the Book of Job in the Bible:
It's easy to thank God when he does what we want. But God doesn't always do what we want. Ask Job. His empire collapsed, his children were killed, and what was a healthy body became a rage of boils. From whence came this torrent? From whence will come any help?
Not from his wife. You can't really blame her for telling Job to curse God, right? But to curse God and die? Now that's scary! Then come his friends. They mean well, but they comfort poorly. How many of us have those type of friends? They mean so well, but they often do more harm than good... unintentionally of course! They tell him he must have been pretty bad to get it so bad. Really? As if He did something wrong and God was punishing him...but, that's certainly how they seen it.  "With friends like you guys...," Job says and then tells them to take their theology back to the dime store where they bought it. Getting no comfort from family or friend, he goes straight to God and pleads his case. His head hurts. His body hurts. His heart hurts. And, he can't tolerate anymore half-baked answers. "Why is this happening to me?" he demands.
And God answers....
This is going to be the best study I've ever embarked upon. We all have had our "Job moments" where we felt alone, felt like we've lost it all, or maybe you're in the midst of your own "Job situation" currently. You have to know that if you continue to trust God -- you will get through this...the rain will cease and the storm will pass...but you cannot lose Faith & Hope! I have to tell you that you must know the only way to get through it is on your knees...

Stay tuned....this is going to get good!!
"There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was blameless and upright, and one who feared God and shunned evil." (Job 1:1)
I leave you with this food for thought.... What kind of a man or woman are you? Are you one that is blameless? Clearly, Satan hoped to convince God that Job only was righteous because of his comfortable life. Is that you and I? Are we only righteous when everything is perfect and right?

As I said before, if you take nothing else away from my blogs - I pray you will never forget that you are "wonderfully and fearfully made" (Psalm 193:14). Never forget that you are the son or daughter of the almighty King of King and that you do not have to "BE" what the world expects you to be, but you do have to be what makes you happy and what's pleasing to God! Do something kind today, be nice to others, and respect those you interact with. Strive to make a difference in others lives, but more importantly, make a difference in your own life. Life is messy...thank God for Bounty paper towels, Grace & Mercy!
"Pretty words aren't always true...and true words aren't always pretty."
"And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." (John 8:32)
