Changing Our Response - Changes Outcomes!

Good morning Blogger Fans....

What an awesome day to be alive!! I thank God that He has chosen to give me another day!

"A gentle response defuses anger, but a sharp tongue kindles a temper-fire." (Proverbs 15:1)

The "love is patient, love is kind" passage in Paul's letter to the Corinthians (1 Corinthians 13:4) is one of the world's most well-known descriptions of love. After giving the positive attributes of love, Paul flips the coin to explain what love is not: It is not rude or easily angered.

The Greek word for "easily angered" is paroxyno. In different Bible versions, it is translated to mean greatly distressed, easily angered, irritable.  Bottom line, Paul was saying that love means we don't fly off the handle to our husbands and children.

When we snap at those we love, what happens? Our actions create emotional and physical distance. People scatter! They escape to another room until we cool off. Or they might respond by getting even and snapping back. Some may flee and never return. Irritability can quickly escalate into anger.  Little things turn into big things, and big things turn into bad things.

We all have frustrating days that put us close to the edge. Not one of us are perfect. Most of us do not even realize what we're doing or saying until it's done. So what's a better way to handle irritability? Instead of expecting our family to excuse bad behavior AFTER it happens, ask for some allowance. Be candid, before you snap. "I've had a horrible day and I'm not feeling very patient" is a much healthier response than flying odd the handle. Try it! There's nothing to lose and everything to gain: real love! "Lord, put a bit in my mouth! Pull on the reins so that I stop before I snap" is a prayer that I often find myself praying. You know what time it is... It's GO! time! Be the amazing person God created you to be. Receive all of His abundance and blessings He has in store for you!

I pray you have an AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL DAY! May God wrap His loving arms around you (and place a hand on our mouths as needed today).

Remember, as I've written before, if you take nothing else away from my blog - I pray you will never forget that you are "wonderfully and fearfully made" (Psalm 139:14). Never forget that you are the son or daughter of the almighty King of Kings and that you do not have to "BE" what the world expects you to be, but you do have to be what makes you happy! Do something kind today, be nice to others, and respect those you interact with. Strive to make a difference in others lives, but more importantly make a difference in your own life. Life is messy...thank God for Bounty paper towels, Grace & Mercy!
"Pretty words aren't always true...and true words aren't always pretty, but when the truth is spoken, it's always beautiful!"
"And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." (John 8:32)
Make memories and make today count for today will never come again. GO! Be the awesome person God designed you to be! Have a blessed day!

Blessings,
Candye~
