Building Trust....

As a child growing up my parents always instilled in me, "honesty, good work ethics and integrity will take you further in life than money ever could." As I've grown older I certainly know that's the truth and my faith in God has sustained me when others have betrayed me and broken my trust, but sometimes it was tough to really trust God in every situation.

My favorite analogy is shared by Beth Moore. Many corporations send their employees to leadership training courses in the hope that they will develop better working relationships. One exercise takes place on a rope course. A person is buckled into a harness in a high platform then falls into open space, trusting their team members to guide them safely back to the ground.

If we can trust people with our lives while dangling in midair, (which, let's face it, some people I would not trust with my favorite plant in that harness, let alone me), why is it so difficult to put our trust in a loving Heavenly Father? Perhaps it's because we can't see God. Trust -- what some call "blind faith" -- is not easily attained. It comes after we've built a record with others over time.

To trust God, we have to step out in faith. The adage "let go and let God" sounds simple. It isn't --but it works.  Try this: Challenge yourself to trust God with one detail in your life each day. Build that trust pattern and watch Him work.

He won't let you down. He holds you securely in His hand. He is your hope for the future.

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths." ‭‭(Proverbs‬ ‭3:5-6‬)

Remember, as I've written before, if you take nothing else away from my blog - I pray you will never forget that you are "wonderfully and fearfully made" (Psalm 139:14). Never forget that you are the son or daughter of the almighty King of Kings and that you do not have to "BE" what the world expects you to be, but you do have to be what makes you happy! Do something kind today, be nice to others, and respect those you interact with. Strive to make a difference in others lives, but more importantly make a difference in your own life. Life is messy...thank God for Bounty paper towels, Grace & Mercy!

"Pretty words aren't always true...and true words aren't always pretty, but when the truth is spoken, it's always beautiful!"

"And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." (John 8:32)

Make memories and make today count for today will never come again. GO! Be the awesome person God designed you to be! Have a blessed day!

Blessings,
