It’s Friday, But Sunday’s Coming
It's Friday...
The sky darkens.
The earth trembles.
The Savior of the world hangs on a cross,
bruised and broken. Hope seems lost.
The disciples scatter, the crowd jeers, and sorrow runs deep.
It’s the day that dreams died and doubt took its seat beside despair.
But—Sunday is coming.
There’s something about Friday that we all
understand.
Friday is the diagnosis.
Friday is the betrayal.
Friday is the heartbreak, the job loss, the anxious night, the tears that won’t
stop.
But how encouraging -- Friday is not the end of the story.
Because Sunday—glorious, victorious, resurrection Sunday—is
coming.
On Sunday, the stone was rolled away.
On Sunday, death lost its grip.
On Sunday, Jesus rose and shattered every chain that sin and darkness had tried
to bind us with.
"He is not here; He has risen, just as He said." Matthew 28:6
What looked like defeat on Friday became divine victory on
Sunday.
Jesus didn’t just endure the cross—He overcame it.
He didn’t just die—He rose again.
He didn’t just leave us in our pain—He promised eternal life, healing, and
restoration through Him.
And the best part?
The same resurrection power that brought Jesus out of the grave is alive and
working in us today.
"I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in Me will live, even though they die." —John 11:25
So if you're in a Friday season, hold on.
If life feels heavy, silent, or hopeless—take heart.
We serve a Sunday Savior, not a Friday failure.
He makes beauty out of ashes.
He restores what was broken.
He removes the stains of our past and replaces them with His grace.
No shame. No guilt. Just mercy and love.
"To all who mourn... He will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair." — Isaiah 61:3 (NLT)
"Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow." — Isaiah 1:18
Resurrection wasn’t just a one-time event. It’s a lifestyle of hope, of joy rising from sorrow, of new life coming from what once felt lost.
"Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning." —Psalm 30:5
Sunday reminds us that the grave couldn’t hold Him—and nothing can hold us when we are in Him.
I encourage you, this weekend, as we reflect on the cross, let’s not stop
at Friday.
Let’s look to Sunday with open hearts and lifted eyes.
Let’s rejoice in the Risen King who turns tragedy into triumph, who wipes every
tear, who restores our joy.
Because no matter how dark your Friday is—Sunday is always coming.
