Make Memories, Not Deadlines...

These last few days my little family took time away from the hustle and bustle of life's busy day to day life and we made memories!

We drove almost six hours away in hopes of experiencing the Solar Eclipse.

What's funny is that although we tried to escape the life of deadlines, the reality is, even if you try you can't.

Today alone we had many deadlines to meet in order to not miss the whole purpose behind our trip.

In order to not miss out on the fresh made omelettes at the hotel we had to be in the hotel cafe by a certain time. We actually missed the cutoff time, but my husband must have looked hungry and disappointed, because they made him one despite the kitchen being closed. #Grace

We had to stop along the way so my hubby could pick up cool parts for his old truck. How ironic that the place was less than 5 miles from our hotel, and on the way. #Favor

We had to be at our destination by a certain time to get the best parking. This meant we had to leave at a certain time to try and avoid the traffic. We found an alternate route to avoid the backed up traffic jam. #Blessed

The point is, no matter how hard you try, life is full of deadlines, obstacles, and diversions that you have to learn to navigate through if you plan on getting to your final destination. #Purpose

The key is, even when you have deadlines, you can still make amazing memories. You have to change your mindset. You have to learn to see things through a different set of lenses in order to find all of the #Grace, #Favor, #Blessings and #Purpose of your journey.

We laughed! We got frustrated with the traffic. We got stalled along the way - but we never lost sight of our final destination! We made it work! We kept going!

At the end, we looked back and realized that because of God's amazing grace, favor, blessings and purpose, we got to experience something magnificent He created today.

I hope you all will take a moment to reflect on your life. Are you setting aside time to make memories? Do you have your eyes on a final destination? If not, find your purpose (destination), devise a plan, and stick with it! But, take time along the way to enjoy the blessings God is affording you!

I often have too pinch myself and thank God for all the many blessings He's bestowed upon me and my little family. Every day presents it's own set of challenges, but we work through them and we stick together. That's what families do.

"Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given."‭‭ (John‬ ‭1:16‬)

Have a wonderfully blessed evening!

The Son...

Borrowed, and so so good!

There is so much excitement and anticipation around the eclipse coming up on Today, Monday August 21 st. I mean, what's not to love! The moon blocking out the sun and darkness in the middle of the afternoon! It's a phenomena that the whole country is anticipating (and hoping to have the right glasses to view).

But could I tell you about another day that the sun was darkened and refused to shine? It was the darkest day in history 2000 years ago when the Son of Man was hanging on a cross. The scripture gives this account in Mark 15:33-34: "At noon, darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon. And at three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?" (which means "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"

The sun was darkened for three hours as the Father turned away from the Son. For the first time in all of eternity there was a separation of the Father and the Son. Our finite minds can't comprehend such love for us that God would sacrifice His Son. And why would the Son willingly give His life for the sins of the whole world? It's beyond our human comprehension.

Darkness in the middle of the day. Creation mourning the killing and death of the Lord of Creation. But praise God it didn't end there...not in darkness! The darkest day in history was turned into a glorious daylight as the Son arose on the third day! Salvation was complete.

The eclipse today will be an amazing event. Amazing, but not life changing. I pray that it is a reminder of that day so long ago when love eclipsed darkness and salvation became a reality for each and every person on the planet. That is life changing, but only if you receive it.

I hope you are careful on Monday as you look at the sun, but I pray that you are always careful to look AT The Son!

"Turn your eyes upon Jesus. Look full in His wonderful face. And the things of earth will grow strangely dim. In the light of His glory and grace."

The Power Of Your Words...

When I hear people say, "I can't," it's like fingernails on a chalkboard to me.

Growing up, my Dad always said, "Can't never could do anything." So, the words "I can't" just are not in my vocabulary. If you use those words I encourage you to stop immediately!

WORDS ARE SO POWERFUL!!
Words are so powerful, and when you speak them out loud, you're speaking those words into action.

Let me ask you something. If you knew that the words you speak have actionable consequences, why would you choose to speak negativity into a precious life that is a gift?

I love what Ayn Rand said, "The question isn't who is going to let me; it's who is going to stop me."

More so, I love (and believe) that My God meets all my needs. (Philippians 4:19) I want you to pay close attention to these words. I did not say some of my needs -- I said ALL of my needs.

Whatever you need, whatever you dream, you must believe that you can accomplish it when your strength comes from the Lord.

Trust me when I tell you, God does not make mistakes! You were created for a specific and special purpose. It's imperative that you start believing that.

When you let go of your fears and begin to truly believe in yourself, I PROMISE you will see great and mighty positive changes!

Remember, as I've written before, if you take nothing else away from my blog - I pray you will never forget that you are "wonderfully and fearfully made" (Psalm 139:14). Never forget that you are the son or daughter of the almighty King of Kings and that you do not have to "BE" what the world expects you to be, but you do have to be what makes you happy!

Do something kind today. Be nice to others and respect those you interact with. Strive to make a difference in others lives, but more importantly make a difference in your own life.

Life is messy...thank God for Bounty paper towels, Grace & Mercy!

"Pretty words aren't always true...and true words aren't always pretty, but when the truth is spoken, it's always beautiful!"

"And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." (John 8:32)

Make memories and make today count for today will never come again. GO! Be the awesome person God designed you to be and have a blessed day!

Eyes Wide Open...

Good morning beautiful blogger fans...open your eyes and see the magnificent beauty around you today!

Janet Jackson once said, "In complete darkness we are all the same." That is so true. Today, if you feel like you're in complete darkness just know if you have the ability to open your eyes and see it's a gift. However, if you have the ability to see when you're in complete darkness, then you have been touched by Amazing Grace! Give Him thanks! Take in the sights around you and appreciate all of the beauty - even if it's not the kind of beauty you'd hope for - open your eyes and find it! If you're not happy with where you are, take the appropriate and necessary steps to change your view!

Today's Humor: Why is it that your nose runs but your feet smell? 😂

Today's Scripture: "You, Lord, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light." (Psalm‬ ‭18:28‬)

Today's a gift! GO! Be the amazing person God designed you to be! NEVER let anyone or anything dull your light!! Today, Shine On!! Have a blessed day!!

Recalling God's Goodness...

We can recall the times of God's faithfulness to us when we think back and count our blessings such as remission from cancer, a job transition, or the birth of a child.

However, we can go a step further and proactively remind ourselves of His goodness.

Have you ever built an altar to remind you of who God is and what He has done for you?  Could you imagine walking through your home seeing a stone written with words commemorating each time God proved faithful?  It is a proactive, physical way to jog your memory of God's faithfulness.

When difficult times come, all you need to do is look around to see God's blessings you've long forgotten!

Have a blessed Saturday and never forget to be thankful, it's really a small act with a huge reward!

Let Go! And Let God! be God and take control!

He doesn't alway ask our permission but He does promise He will take care of us if we trust Him.

"Wherever I cause my name to be honored, I will come to you and bless you." (Exodus 20:24)

Run Your Race Intentionally

One of my favorite quotes comes from the late Ruth Bell Graham. Years before her passing she said that when she died, she wanted these words written on her tombstone. "End of construction. Thank you for your patience." So simple, yet so true!

You are a work in progress. I am a work on progress. We even see that Paul in the book of Philippians admits he too was a work in progress. Realize that NO ONE here on earth has "arrived" yet. We are all under-construction. Just because you have areas in your life that God continues to renovate doesn't mean you're not growing and changing more and more into Christ's image.

Please don't get discouraged; we are all a work in progress until the day we make it to heaven. If you didn't know it yet, God is in the construction business and you are part of His project. Forget the past. Focus on the future. Do you hear that? Christ is calling after you.

Remember, as I've written before, if you take nothing else away from my blog - I pray you will never forget that you are "wonderfully and fearfully made" (Psalm 139:14). He's A Chain Breaker....

What a glorious day to be alive!! I woke with an old church choir course in my soul...

Whatever you're dealing with just know that the Bible promises #JesusSaves and #Restores.

If you've got pain, He's a pain taker. If you're lost, He's a way maker. If you need freedom, saving or struggling, He's a Savior and chain breaker.

Never forget...you're worth it

"And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you."

Investing In You...

Good morning!

Time to rise & shine! I think it's a double-shot of coffee kind of morning!

Quick tip: There are 4 things you cannot recover in life: the stone after it's thrown, the word after it's said, the occasion after it's missed and the time after it's gone.

Knowing this, let's strive to make the most of today. To invest in ourselves, starting with growing and developing our relationship with Christ.

Remember, if God woke you, He's not finished with your story yet!

The common denominator to the most meaningful relationships we have is the time we have invested in them. The Bible speaks of friends interacting as "iron sharpening iron," and God is spoken of as a friend that is closer than a brother. In order to develop a relationship, there must be a willingness to commit our time.

Having a quiet time is much more than checking something off your spiritual "to do" list. It is growing an intimate and personal relationship with the God who created us.

We must trust that He loves us and has chosen us to follow Him and become like Him. But there's another critical reason why we must take seriously a time set apart to meditate on the Scriptures and to pray.

Investing in quality time with God is instrumental and the first step in investing in ourselves. It is critical in ensuring we never get stagnant and lose focus of our purpose.

I pray you have an amazingly blessed day! Never forget "you're worth it."

Have a blessed day!

Friday Faith - Answered Prayers

Are you praying for something specific?

Do you feel like your prayers are not being heard or that they may be doing a little 'ceiling bouncing?'

Let me give you a little Hope this morning!

God has given us His promises because He wants to fulfill them. Be they promises of peace, restoration, healing, or for material supply, we must keep in mind that the Lord would not have promised it if He did not want to do it. (Hebrews 10:23)

My husband and I prayed for over 18 years before we received our answer.

Like Sarah in the Bible, most of us are waiting for something and we are neither hopeless nor helpless while we wait. But it doesn't often feel that way in the waiting.  Nobody drifts to the top of a mountain; it takes planning, discipline and effort to climb. It takes Faith

There is much to be done in concert with God and others while we wait for our dreams and more importantly, God's design for us.

Sarah's dream came true and she spent 37 years with her own, birthed son, Isaac. (She lived to 127.) If you expectantly wait on God and your dream comes true you will revel in His provision and answer. If you complain, develop a bitter spirit, focusing on all the years in the waiting, you may miss the blessing.

When I see Him face to face, God will not apologize for not fulfilling my expectations or desires, be it marriage, job, or having a child in this life. Instead, he will ask me, "While you were focused on these things, did you see any of the blessings I sent you?"

Indeed, when I focus on the "big things" I want, I tend to take for granted and miss the daily blessings God sends me. When I focus on gratitude for what I already have, and the blessings that arrive daily, I find myself living with more joy, which is contagious.

Can we wait and rest in the security of God's timing and plan, His way?

Waiting is most definitely hard! However, we must remember that He is capable to perform miracles, if necessary, to accomplish His goals in our lives, and sometimes miracles simply cannot happen overnight. Sometimes there is a preparation that has to occur to get us ready for our miracle.

I'm reminded in the Bible that He wanted and did answer Sarah's prayers to bear her own child.

Can you imagine the sweetness of joy as Sarah held her answer given to her through impossible means by her magnificent God?  Only 50 years of waiting could have produced such contagious, glorious joy!  And I'll bet she would say "It was a miracle worth the wait!". I know I did when we received our miracle after 18 years!

What are you waiting for? Take hope in knowing that we serve a Mighty God that knows best. We have to learn to trust Him, rely on Faith and never give up Hope!

I pray as you lay awaiting on your miracle that you don't miss the opportunity to celebrate the smaller blessings around you.

I pray you have an amazingly blessed day!

Blessings,
Candye~

Time to rise & shine!

Get up every morning and throw aside the curtain of doubt. Brush past that foggy film that clouds your vision from seeing what is right in front of you and embrace expectancy.

It is the breaking of a new day. It is the establishing of fresh opportunities and unlimited possibilities that await you!

Beautifully and Wonderfully Made...

Good morning!! Oh how excited to be able to share with you this morning! I love waking up....beats the alternative! 😂

Here's a little Monday Motivation for you: Don't let the world make you think you're not beautiful. You are! It's not what's on the outside that counts, it's what's on the inside. Self-confidence is the best thing one can put on daily!

I'm teaching my daughter that it's proven beauty fades, but a sincere, humble, genuine & loyal heart will last forever! Be the kind of person you want others to see in you.

Now, GO! Be the awesomeness God designed you to be!! Make memories & make today count!

"So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day." (2 Cor. 4:16)

"Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised." (Proverbs 31:30)

There's Room At The Cross...

Good Saturday morning!

I am so glad to be home! There's just nothing quite like your own bed and your own coffee ☕️

I woke up singing this song this morning...
"There's room at the Cross for you. Though millions have come, there's still room for one..."

So thankful God decided to wake me this morning, which means He's obviously not through with me yet. My prayer is that He uses me so that I may be a blessing for others.

What's your prayer today?

Won't you meet me at the Cross?

Remember....Sunday's coming... 👑

Good Friday - But Sunday's Coming...

Today they crucified our Jesus. He died for me and for you. He took our sin to hell and left it there. He defeated death for us, shed His innocent blood for us so we could have a relationship with God.

Jesus suffered so we could live a victorious life here on earth and live eternally in heaven. But each of us must accept His great sacrifice for ourself, and ask Jesus to live in us. Today is the day that true history was, and still, is being made. Change your life by accepting Jesus as your lord.

God so LOVED the world that He gave His only son, Jesus, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Step into a better life, live each day with Jesus guiding your way!

Remember, as I've written before, if you take nothing else away from my blog - I pray you will never forget that you are "wonderfully and fearfully made" (Psalm 139:14). The Valleys Are Where We Grow...

I am so thankful for the blood of Jesus that sets us free and because of the stripes He took for us, they make us whole. When I read and study Isaiah 53, I am reminded that it does not matter what anyone else thinks or says about me. I was (and am) worthy enough to be His daughter and because of the Cross I can face tomorrow. I pray that you will have that same peace as you are traveling in your valley. Remember the valleys may be lonely and tiring but they are where the rivers flow. They are where we grow! I thank God for my valleys, they are where I also learn and glean my greatest experiences that turn into my most beautiful joy! Just as Christ died on The Cross - He rose again! Keep your hope high and your faith full because Sunday's coming!

"But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed." (‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭53:5‬ ‭NKJV‬)

Remember, as I've written before, if you take nothing else away from my blog - I pray you will never forget that you are "wonderfully and fearfully made" (Psalm 139:14). Confession Is Powerful...

This morning, I was awoken by the sweet chirping sounds of birds which sounded like an angelic choir that put a song of praise in my heart. Sing your praise to the Lord! And to a miracle little girl that calls me Mommy - giving you thanks for answering prayers!

I praise You, Abba Father, for who You are and for all that Your Son, Jesus did at the Cross on my behalf. I step in and receive it all! Through the blood, I am justified! I am declared righteous!

"Make this your common practice: Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you can live together whole and healed. The prayer of a person living right with God is something powerful to be reckoned with. Elijah, for instance, human just like us, prayed hard that it wouldn't rain, and it didn't—not a drop for three and a half years. Then he prayed that it would rain, and it did. The showers came and everything started growing again." ‭‭(James‬ ‭5:16-18‬ ‭MSG‬‬)

Sometimes we have to go through a drought, just as Elijah did, before we reach the other side. It can be painful and sometimes it may feel as though there is no end in sight. But, just as the rain came from Elijah's prayer, so will the answer to whatever you are praying for. Don't allow your pain of yesterday to stop you from doing what God has called you to do. Just remember - "Joy comes in the morning!" Never give up!

Have a beautifully blessed day!

Do something kind today, be nice to others, and respect those you interact with.

GO! Be the awesome person God designed you to be! Have a blessed day!

Blessings,
Candye~

God: Never in a Hurry, Always On Time

God: Never in a Hurry, Always On Time

Be patient with God and with yourself. One of life's frustrations is that God's timetable is rarely the same as ours. We are often in a hurry when God isn't. You may feel frustrated with the seemingly slow progress you're making in life.

Remember that God is never in a hurry, but he is always on time. He will use your entire lifetime to prepare you for your role in eternity.

The Bible is filled with examples of how God uses a long process to develop character, especially in leaders. He took 80 years to prepare Moses, including 40 in the wilderness. For 14,600 days Moses kept waiting and wondering, "Is it time yet?" But God kept saying, "Not yet."

Contrary to popular book titles, there are no "Easy Steps to Maturity" or "Secrets of Instant Sainthood." When God wants to make a giant oak, he takes a hundred years, but when he wants to make a mushroom, he does it overnight.

Great souls are grown through struggles and storms and seasons of suffering. Be patient with the process. James advised, "Don't try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed" (James 1:4b MSG).

Don't get discouraged. When Habakkuk became depressed because he didn't think God was acting quickly enough, God had this to say: "These things I plan won't happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled. If it seems slow, do not despair, for these things will surely come to pass. Just be patient! They will not be overdue a single day!" (Habakkuk 2:3 LB)

A delay is not a denial from God!

Remember how far you've come, not just how far you have to go. You are not where you want to be, but neither are you where you used to be. Years ago people wore a popular button with the letters PBPGINFWMY. It stood for "Please Be Patient, God Is Not Finished With Me Yet." God isn't finished with you, either, so keep on moving forward. Even the snail reached the ark by persevering!

You Have A Purpose...

This is an amazing day to be alive! Regardless of your circumstances, whatever you're facing, never forget - you do not have to face it alone. Our Heavenly Father is there with open arms.

The cross does not signal to us that our suffering will soon stop or even become meaningful, but instead offers hope that it might someday come to be redeemed in spite of its possible meaninglessness.

Remember, God woke you today, even in the midst of your trials, you have a purpose!

"God is good all the time....all the time God is good"

Looking at the book of Lamentations, there are times when it seems like Jeremiah might have disagreed with that sentiment. Born into a time when foreign armies besieged the nation of Israel, Jeremiah started to wonder if God actually did care for His people. As the prophet looked at the destruction all around him, he wrestled with whether or not God really was good. In fact, Jeremiah even started to blame God for all the bad things that were happening to him.

Jeremiah recognized that while his circumstances might be difficult, his God was always good. His world may have been falling apart, but God's faithfulness still stood. Jeremiah could always count on God's goodness, even if his situation made it seem otherwise.

In the same way, I think this is a truth we need to grab hold of today. Sure, our situation may not be as dire as Jeremiah's. Yet, I think when we deal with our own "crumbling" times we could do with a reminder of God's goodness. The next time you find yourself questioning if God really cares, spend some time mediating on Scriptures that remind us how good He really is:

Psalm 34:8: "Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in Him!"

Psalm 100:5"For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and His faithfulness continues to each generation."

Jeremiah 33:11b: "Give thanks to the Lord of Heaven's Armies, for the Lord is good. His faithful love endures forever!'"

Lamentations 3:25-26: "The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him: it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord."

I pray you never give up and never forget that "God is good all the time...all the time God is Good"

Today is a new beginning, a second chance! The world is waiting for the AWESOME side of you! GO! Enjoy this beautiful day the Lord has given and know that you are wonderfully, fearfully and beautifully made in His image!! Have a  wonderfully blessed day!!

Continually praying,
